Scoil Nuachabháil is a rural school in Gortatlea, Ballymacelligott, in the heart of County Kerry, Ireland. Scoil Nuachabháil as also known in the locality as Nohoval National School.

The school opened its new extension in 2008, a modern building including three new classrooms (each with its own storage areas and toilets). The upstairs was renovated in 2011 to include a computer room, a resource room and a storage space.

The old school at Nohoval was built in 1873 in the townland of Craganorig. Among the teachers who taught there were: Michael Dillane, Michael Scanlon, Matthew Reynolds, Mr, O’Connell and Richard McElligott. All of these taught in the boys’ school.  In the girls’ school, the teachers were Mrs. Cronin, Mrs, McKenna and Miss Nelligan.  The schools were amalgamated in 1889.

Micheál Ó Bolguidhir (Mick Bolger) was appointed Principal December 2009. Mick previously taught in Caherleaheen National School, but lives in Ballymacelligott.

Others who have taught in Scoil Nuachabháil over the years were: Hannah Diggins-Reidy, Mrs. Jack McEllistrim, Hannah Reidy of Fiddane, Peggy O’Shea, Marie Allman and Déirdre O’Connor.
